It is exciting to watch startups and our Alberta startup ecosystem grow. As we have both worked in and around the startup space for many years, we have also both been on the receiving end of question: Do you know someone who can fill this job?
Clearly, more mature startup cities like Vancouver and Toronto have a bigger pool of top-tier talent. But the answer to filling our talent gap is less about trying to get those workers to come to us – and more about focusing our ecosystem on working together to level up the skills of the people that are already here.
